This bicycle was built during the "High Cotton" time in industry. With plenty of money in their coffers, Monarck hired the best designers available. The influences of this design are evident with the Zephyr headlight, reminiscent of the world's fastest train at the time. Also, in the age of cliffhanger serials at the movie theatre, the rear luggage rack adornment is modeled after the sun visor of Rocket Man's helmet. The designer hired for this bicycle was hired in 1948 by the Ford Motor Company to design the 1949 Mercury. Pleased with the rear-reflector housing of this bicycle, he copied the same design for the truck lid of the 1949 Mercury, with a key-hole at the bottom.
